Teflon tape is made of fiberglass fabric impregnated with PTFE, with excellent non-stick properties and high tensile and abrasion resistance. It is used as a non-stick covering on heating elements and sealing bars of plastic packaging sealers, on conveyor belts for food and injection-molded parts, and as an anti-abrasion lining in chutes and ducts. Types of Teflon tape
Adhesive-backed Teflon tape
Fiberglass fabric backing impregnated with PTFE, silicone-based adhesive and yellow corrugated plastic liner. Supplied in the width you need, 0.13, 0.15 or 0.25 mm thick.
Teflon tape with guides
No adhesive, folded and sewn, with side guides. Used when the adhesive cannot touch the heating element or to cover packaging machine components, such as silicone or foam sponges. 0.15 mm thick, standard 30 m roll.

What is the difference between adhesive-backed tape and tape with guides?
Adhesive-backed tape is attached directly to the surface with a silicone-based adhesive and is supplied in the width you need. Tape with guides has no adhesive: it is folded and sewn, with side guides, and is recommended when the adhesive cannot touch the heating element.
